Lord Dorem’s tenure on the Ancient World began with his arrival at Port Orange, where he quickly departed for the New Lands off the Coast of Orrostar. After departing the ship, Dorem settled on the first piece of unclaimed land he could find. Which conveniently happened to be the closest island to the ship. Hoping to capitalize on being the first rest stop for weary travelers, Dorem gathered resources from beneath the earth and ruins throughout Orrostar. Upon his return, Dorem began construction of the Ruined Tower (planned to be deemed the Red Tower), carving it from the rock itself. In time, fields were plowed, ore mined, and trees planted. Yet no one came.

Thus began the second phase of Dorem’s time on the Ancient World: the Travels. For many days and nights, Dorem ventured throughout the regions of the New Lands, yet all that he found were empty cities and abandoned ruins. Despite his bad luck, Dorem continued to explore, from the deserts of Orrostar to the Savannahs of the New Lands. While the sights were spectacular, there was little in the way of companions or fellow travellers. So, Dorem returned to Ateria and resumed planting trees and plowing the fields.

In his final days on the Ancient World, Dorem began construction of a great city on the coast, both to expand his domain and in anticipation of meeting others: Avendale. Soon, the first building, the Blue Roof (planned to be a Tavern/Bar), was built. With two other buildings being finished in quick succession. As things seemed to be looking up, Dorem vanished, leaving Ateria as the newest member of the abandoned ruins surrounding it.

With the Ruined Tower having now become its namesake, Ateria was abandoned to the elements. Yet, while Dorem’s story did not end with Ateria, ours does. What little is known about Ateria was collected from scattered parchments and writings found throughout the lands and within the Aterian ruins. The whereabouts of Lord Dorem remain unknown, as few, if any, travellers ever encountered him.
