Port Orange

This is the untold story of Port Orange.

What is now known by most as an elaborate and grand island port city that has tied our world together for many years, there is in fact a lot more to its story. Despite common knowledge; Port Orange was founded by a small faction sometime during the Age of Undead – predating the later Age of Continents where it would become more widely known.

The small island was founded by a Faction by the name of COPO (Citizens of Port Orange). It’s members consisted of; forsaac, Gio7181 and Saber777. The faction leader was Ranger_Atlas.

The island was divided up into districts to support multiple factions co-existing on the island. Known claims were a Vault101 embassy, a metro tunnel by the Talon Company, and a BTC forge. A manor mouse, architects office, an inn, and private homes were also spread out across the districts.

Port Orange would eventually become reachable via fast travel from Ironheart’s docks during the Age of Gods 2.

The following is an excerpt from a letter written by Ranger_Atlas, titled;
Port Orange Development Guide.

A follow up letter was later discovered in the ruins of Port Orange. Written by COPO faction member forsaac, that gives further insight into what happened to this small island community. It reads;

It was not very long later that the Age of Darkness struck the world, forcing such communities to be abandoned. What was left of Port Orange, it’s citizenry, and even the new governance of the Skyknights, would not survive the coming darkness.

Post Age of Darkness & The Age of Continents

As the first chapter of Age of Continents was coming to a close, and the people of Dagon Fel were preparing themselves to explore additional continents, a port town would need to be constructed to tie all of the continents together and give the community a social hub area.

By this time, much like the rest of the Old Mainland, Port Orange was long abandoned. But it was not forgotten and it’s name was still at the tip of everyone’s tongue. It’s for this reason that it was chosen to be the new heart of the continents.

Port Orange was relocated from the Old Mainland to where it remains to this day. From there, the Demigods would work on a complete revamp of the small island. And on a set time and date, Port Orange would have a spectacular opening event.

The Port Orange Opening Event

There was a lot of hype leading up to the opening event. A countdown was displayed on Drakortha’s main website with a slideshow of teaser images of Port Orange and the new continents. The people of Dagon Fel waited with eager anticipation.

When the mortals finally sailed away from Dagon Fel and landed on Port Orange, several newly discovered continents became reachable via boat. These continents were Sadrith Mora, Terth Valhalla, Nautilus Taber, and Bal Fel.

The newly revamped Port Orange would be home to the Pale Dragon Inn, built and operated by The Fleet, a Chapel by The Templars, a stables, The Archive Building (library), a functional PvE arena, a bank, and a market.

Post Age of Continents & Orrostar

Though the Age of Continents and Age of Orrostar was long past, Port Orange continued to be the heart of The Ancient World. For this reason, the island was slated for another complete revamp during the Age of Silence. This time it would need to be more than just a hub for the continents – it would need to become the hub for the entire world by reflecting the worlds history and sense of scale.

Instead of the task being delegated to a few select Demigods, this second revamp would become a world-wide event called the Port Orange Redux Competition. The entire Ancient World would be invited to try their hands at re-imagining the port city. But only one Reduxed design could be chosen.
