Baulkham Hills was a wilderness area that gained prominence shortly after the Age of Rifts and the destruction of The Shire, when the mortals scattered across the world in search of new, safe lands to settle. Other notable areas that rose up during this time were Applewatch, Barossa Valley, White Ridge, and Monsoon Jungle.

Nearby Baulkham Hills to the north was Shady Sands which had already been settled during the previous age. Both areas were eventually occupied by some of the most prominent factions of the time such as the Ironhammer dwarves and Draconix.
